Diderich Buxtehude
The Book. Now out in English!
It is my pleasure to be able to finally present my book on Buxtehude, the most significant Danish composer of the baroque period. Throughout the years Buxtehude has broadly been regarded as a smaller musical figure. In my book I show that this absolutely was not the case, and that Buxtehude in fact a great frontrunner to J.S. Bach and many other contemporary musicians of the baroque period. I also play with the idea of Buxtehude having been inspired by previous court musicians in Denmark.
Although, as such a young violinist I knew that I would have to receive assistance to this end. It is for that reason that this book is based on consultations with internationally known musicians; Ton Koopman and Sigiswald Kuijken.
The Story.
A book for music lovers, culture enthusiasts, students and artists interested in learning about Buxtehude and his influence.

The painting presents a scene with musicians in the foreground and a paradise in the background, clearly indicating that the foreground, the artists, create the background, paradise. But how can this be tied together with the rest of Buxtehude's life. Click the image of the whitepaper to read |
